What Educators Are Saying
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this impact FERPA compliance?
No, using Wealthiest does not impact FERPA compliance.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of a student’s “education records.” These records include academic information such as grades, class schedules, transcripts, and other files maintained by a school.
Wealthiest does not access or require a student’s education records. We only connect to a student’s financial accounts via Plaid to process transactions and facilitate payments to student loan servicers. This financial data is not considered an education record under FERPA and is instead protected by other industry-standard security measures and privacy protocols.
Can we launch without IT involvement?
Yes, the pilot program can be launched with no lift from IT. Book a demo to find out more.
How long is the pilot program?
We expect the pilot program to run for 90 days, during which we will be actively collecting data and making improvements. We will keep all pilot users informed of our progress and any changes to the program’s timeline via email and in-app notifications.
What data will we have access to?
To ensure the privacy and security of our users, we will only provide schools with aggregated and anonymized Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will have access to a dashboard and regular reports that demonstrate the program’s impact, but Wealthiest will not share the personally identifiable information (PII) of your students.
The data provided will include metrics such as:
- Total amount of student loan debt paid down by all users at your school.
- The total number of unique students participating in the program from your school.
- Average amount of debt paid down per student.
- Overall user engagement metrics, such as the number of active users.
- Anonymized insights into payment trends and user demographics.
This data is provided to help you understand the program’s effectiveness and its positive impact on your student body.
